Steve held Rogue's hand and carefully slipped the ring on her finger, taking a moment afterward to just look at it on her hand. He slid over until he was resting more along the back of the couch, with just a leg and arm draped over her, and pulled her hand up to place a kiss over the ring.

"I know diamonds are traditional, but I liked this one," he told her quietly, as if confiding a secret. "You know what rubies and emeralds stand for?"
