It broke her heart a little to see Steve so conflicted over his decisions, so torn in a dozen different directions. Despite the months he'd been in this time, the world was still so different and strange, and she was so grateful that he allowed her help in weathering it.

Taking his hand in hers, she gave it a gentle squeeze. "I think you should go with your gut," she answered. "If you want to be in the Veterans' Day parade, then you should do it on your terms. I think it's the right message to send; and if Fury argues about the message it'll send, you can tell him that it'll be good to remind the world of why you became Captain America in the first place. You wanted to be a soldier and do your part to help make the world a better place, you weren't trying to be some superhero in a costume."

She reached up with her other hand to smooth her palm over his hair, down to his neck so she could rest her thumb along his jaw. "As for Thanksgiving..."

She knew that the parade had around since his time, so it was probably something he'd gotten to watch when he was healthy enough. Getting to march with so many other people would be a sort of milestone for him, and she couldn't keep him from that. "I'd thought maybe we could watch the parade together, but I suppose watching you be in the parade will be fun too. And so long as they don't steal you away for other things, we can still have most of the day together."
