Steve nodded at her words, so incredibly grateful that he'd been able to find someone not just so understanding of his responsibilities, but who understood him so well.
Steve reached up and cupped her jaw, his hands mirroring the one she had on his neck, and kissed her. "Thank you," he said softly. "I promise, next year, we will have all day to spend together."
Steve glanced at his phone where he'd unceremoniously tossed it back on the table, thinking about calling Fury back... But decided against it. This was his time, and he was going to spend it with Rogue, and Fury could just wait on tenterhooks until Steve felt like calling him back to make more solid arrangements.
